Well-being and Peer Support
Find out about Bowen's student well-being support, and peer programmes that help students grow in character and confidence.
Well-being and Peer Support
At Bowen, we are committed to nurturing future-ready Bowenians who are self-disciplined, resilient and of sound character. We believe that every challenge presents an opportunity for growth, and we strive to provide a safe, caring and supportive environment where students learn from their experiences, build confidence and make responsible choices.
Guided by our R-E-A-D-Y BE! school routine, students develop positive learning habits, build strong relationships and take ownership of their actions. These values and dispositions empower every Bowenian to become an active learner, a compassionate leader and a responsible member of the school community.

Building Positive Peer Support & Relationships (PSR)

We also believe that every Bowenian has a role to play in creating a caring and inclusive school culture. Students are encouraged to build positive peer relationships, look out for one another and be confident upstanders who support the well-being and safety of their peers. When challenges arise, students are encouraged to seek help from trusted adults so that timely care and support can be provided.
Should students require additional support, our Student Well-being Team and School Counsellors are available to provide guidance, encouragement and care in a safe and supportive environment.
Students can request a Care Chat and speak with a Student Well-being Teacher as shown below.

The Friday Class Bonding Time (FCBT) & CAREbean Programme

At Bowen, student well-being extends beyond the classroom through a range of engaging activities and programmes that foster friendships, strengthen peer support and promote a sense of belonging.
Throughout the year, our Student Well-being Teachers and Peer Support Leaders (PSLs) organise initiatives such as Friday Class Bonding Time (FCBT) and the CAREbean Programme, creating opportunities for students to connect, recharge and support one another.
The CAREbean Programme, held after school, offers students a welcoming space to unwind through recreational activities such as board games, gaming consoles and a pool table. Students are encouraged to register in advance for face-to-face sessions, as places may be limited.
Student Well-being Teachers and Peer Support Leaders are also available during CAREbean sessions to provide a listening ear and informal support. Students who would like a Care Chat are welcome to approach them during these sessions.
