Personalised Digital Learning Programme
Find out how Bowen's Personalised Digital Learning Programme helps students learn actively, work with others, and use technology responsibly to grow as learners.
About the Personalised Digital Learning Programme (PDLP)
The Personalised Digital Learning Programme (PDLP) is a Singapore Ministry of Education (MOE) initiative through which every secondary school student owns a school-prescribed Personal Learning Device (PLD).
Every Bowenian a Future-Ready and Responsible Digital Learner.
At Bowen, we harness the power of ICT to enrich and deepen the learning experiences of every Bowenian. Through the responsible use of Personal Learning Devices (PLDs) and our school network, students are empowered to take ownership of their learning and grow as confident, discerning digital citizens.
We believe that technology, when used with purpose and integrity, is a powerful enabler of 21st Century Competencies. Our goal is to nurture Bowenians who are not just equipped for the future, but ready to shape it — as Future-ready and Responsible Digital Learners.
At the heart of this vision is our aspiration to develop every Bowenian as a Learner, a Leader, and a Champion — one who learns actively, collaborates meaningfully, and uses technology to Do Well and Do Good, guided by confidence, responsibility, and moral conviction.
Prescribed Personal Learning Device (PLD) for our school
The school has selected the Chromebook as the prescribed PLD for our students. Each PLD bundle consists of:
Convertible Chromebook
Laptop charger
Laptop carrying case
USB mouse
Active Learners
As active learners Bowenians take ownership of their learning by actively making sense of what they learn and deepening their knowledge through the meaningful use of their Personal Learning Device (PLD) and learning environment.
Self-management is an essential part of being an active learner. With their PLDs, students can leverage a range of digital platforms and applications to organise their learning, collaborate effectively and enhance their productivity. These include:
Student Learning Space (SLS)
MOE ICON – Google Workspace tools
Google Classroom
Google Calendar
Learning with Others
While learning requires students to be responsible and accountable for their own progress, it is also a social experience. Students learn alongside their peers and teachers, sharing ideas, supporting one another and working towards common goals.
Learning is often deepened through collaboration. Technology can support students in developing the skills to create meaningful content, communicate ideas, share and negotiate different perspectives, and manage social interactions effectively.
Doing Well and Doing Good in the Digital World
We seek to develop confident, responsible and future-ready Bowenians who are able to learn actively, learn with others, and Do Well and Do Good in an increasingly digital world.
The R-E-A-D-Y BE! learning routines support students in navigating the complexities of the 21st-century world, both online and offline. They equip Bowenians with the knowledge, skills and values to use technology confidently, safely and responsibly. Doing Well and Doing Good reminds Bowenians that being digitally competent is not only about knowing how to use technology. It is also about using it safely, responsibly and purposefully to make a positive difference to oneself and others.
