Netball is a popular and enjoyable team game that has been played competitively in Bowen for many years. Training sessions are geared towards learning to play strategically as a team, developing ball-handling skills, improving agility, flexibility and stamina. Netball also effectively promotes the physical and social development of each individual.
We have 2 girls teams (B and C Division) that participates in the National Schools Games yearly and we also participate in carnivals like the Pesta Sukan Netball Carnival and have friendly games with other schools. Selected netballers are also sent for the JTOPS Sports Umpire Award workshops to develop their umpiring potential. The girls are hold termly committee meetings and help to organise netball activities such as the Alumni Netball Carnival and termly bonding games. We also hold programs like sports taping and umpiring workshops for the girls to build on essential skills.
